THE SEED THE GARDENER 2026 JUNE

Personal exhibition

VU Botanical Garden, Vingis Division

In this exhibition, I explore how we experience and shape our inner emotional states. By merging motifs of the human body and nature, I translate my personal reflections into unified sculptural forms.

The exhibition is rooted in the metaphors of the seed and the gardener. “When do we allow an emotion to naturally unfold, and when do we try to control or change it?” These roles constantly shift within the human psyche, raising a question: why do we so often get stuck in just one?

Today, we are surrounded by endless advice on how to manage our inner lives. Against this backdrop, the exhibition asks if there is still room for the states we usually try to avoid – vulnerability, the fear of impermanence, or the longing to belong. Must a fulfilled life always be measured by productivity and success?

In search of balance, I turn to nature. There, I find less urgency and a deeper sense of rhythm. The greenhouse of the VU Botanical Garden serves as both a place of refuge and theconceptual foundation of this work.
